The organization is celebrating advancing Population Day on July first, UNFPA Resident Coordinator in Tanzania, Dr. Natalia Kanem, said there is a need to invest more in education for young people including reproductive health education based on the results of the research show the situation is worse compared to five years ago
Referring to the increase in the number of children who leave primary schools in Tanzania following a teenage pregnancy, programs coordinator of the organization, Samuel Msokwa said 42 percent of girls have become parents as they graduated primary education in the country.
On their side Planning Officer Dr. AIDS and HIV. Fate Marwa and Planning Officer reproductive health for young people from UNFPA Fatna Kiluvia say many young people do not have adequate knowledge of reproductive health as well as how to prevent the transmission of new HIV Aids and thus become the prime victims.
