Girls envelop Form Six

Examinations Council of Tanzania (NECTA) has announced the results of Form Six (ACSEE) which among other things shows girls are leading to performance against 98.59 percent of boys who have succeeded at a rate of 97.55 percent.

The results show that among 27,717 girls were enrolled to test the 26,977 have succeeded and who failed with 740.

In terms of between 47,179 boys enrolled to do the same test failures are passing with 2,605 at 44,574.

Despite these results show many girls have been successful, however the boys are leading in science class performance peaking at eight of the ten best while having only two girls.

These results were announced yesterday in Dar es Salaam and the Executive Secretary of the Council, Dr. Charles drum, in his meeting with the press.

He said however the quality of the performance improvement that exceeds the number of candidates who passed well in grade 1, 11 and 111 have risen to 3.72 percent from 89.41 percent last year to 93.13 percent this year.

He said the quality of performance by looking bridges shows a total of 60,407 candidates equal to 93.13 percent have succeeded in grade 1, 11 and 111 where 23,045 girls are equal to 94.43 percent and 37,362 boys equivalent to 92.35 percent.

"A total of 74,896 candidates were registered to the same test, with 27,717 girls equivalent to 37.01 percent and 47,179 boys are equal to 62.99 percent. Out of 65,585 registered candidates were in school and 9311 were independent, "he said.

He said among the candidates who had registered 74 896, 73 940 candidates equal to 98.72 percent did the same test with 956 equal to 1.28 percent did due to various reasons.

"Among the candidates to school 65,585 registered, 65,276 equal to the percentage 99.53 did the same test, girls with 24,467 equal to the percentage 99.69 and boys 40,809 equal to the percentage 99.43 and candidates 309 similar percentage 0:47 did the test," he said.

Dk. Said drum in the case of independent candidates registered between 9311, 8664 equal to 93.05 percent who did the test and that the same 647 by 6.95 per cent did not.

"A total of 71,551 candidates equal to 97.32 percent of those who did the test, the girls who passed is equal to 26 977 98.31 percent and 44,574 boys are equal to 96.73 percent. Last year passing 38,853 were equivalent to 97.65 percent, "he said.

He said 63,528 school candidates equal to 97.94 percent of the girls who passed is equal to 24 062 98.59 percent and 39,466 boys are equal to 97.55 percent.

He said between 8664 independent candidates were registered to the same test, the same 8023 and 92.64 percent were successful and that last year's successful 4076 were equivalent to 88.34 percent.

He said the quality of the school is scheduled to use the criterion of average points (GPA) where A is 1, B-2, C-3, D-4, E-5, S-6 and F-7.

Dk. Said drum in GATCE test a total of 10,747 candidates equal to 99.81 percent have been successful, with 5,065 similar girls and 99.88 per cent boys and 5,682 equivalent to 99.75 percent.

He said that in the test of 337 candidates DSEE equivalent to 84.46 percent of those who did the test had succeeded where 72 girls are equal to 74.23 percent and 265 boys are equal to 87.75 percent.

"Candidates who are registered to test GATCE were 10,944 girls 5103 equal to 46.63 percent by 5841 boys equivalent to 53.37 percent. Among them 10,887 equivalent to 99.48 per cent were girls who did the test with 5,089 equivalent to 99.73 percent by 5798 boys equivalent to 99.26 percent, "he said.

He said 57 candidates equal to 0.5 percent did the same test with 14 girls equal to 0. 27 percent and 43 boys is equal to 0.74 percent.

The Executive Secretary said in DSEE test, candidates were registered 418, 98 girls are equal to 23.44 percent and 320 boys equivalent to 76.56 percent.

"Among the candidates they registered 415 did a test where girls are 97 similar percentage 98.98 and the boys are 318 equal to the percentage 99.38, candidates three equal percentage 0.72, including one girl equal percentage 1:02 and two boys equal to the percentage 0.63 did not do the test," he said.
