Aboud Jumbe Mwinyi, who served as President of Zanzibar has died today after a long illness, writes Hamisi Muguta. Initial reports indicate that Jumbe used to be a former chairman of the council of the revolution, has died due to illness which were troubling him for a long time until his death. Jumbe, served as president of Zanzibar in 1972-1984 and held various positions including vice chairman of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the Chairman of the council of the revolution.
