The chairperson of CHADEMA, Freeman Mbowe with a member of
the Central Committee of the party, Edward Lowassa has been arrested by the
police force.
The leaders were arrested yesterday in Dar es Salaam by
policemen who were dressed in civilian, after invading in the session of the
Central Committee of the party's emergency was happening at the Hotel Giraffe
Ocean View.
The meeting was started at 5 am and attended by various
leaders, including Lowassa and members of the party who are members of the
Central Committee.
Symptoms of dissolution of the meeting began to emerge at
afternoon, at 8:30 the situation changed in the session, after arriving police
officers who were dressed in civilian and enter directly into the courtyard and
go to the main table where were sitting Mbowe and the General Secretary Dr.
Shinji Vincent and the Deputy General Secretary on the (mainland), John Mnyika
with some members of the Central Committee, including Edward Lowassa with
Professor Mwesiga Baregu.
"When the session was continuing the policemen who were
dressed in civilian entered the hall, despite being stopped by guards of the
party did not agree and say that they have an important message to the party
leaders.
"With the long arguments were entered into the hall as
if eight soldiers and go directly to the main table to Mr. Mbowe and asked him
to break the session.
"However Mbowe refused by saying that they are legally
in the hall. And the police said that he has broken the law. Therefore, they
took him to the East Central Police Station.
"... by that time most members remained shocked and
forced to suspend the session and lead with them to the police officials,"
said one of the members of the Central Committee.
That source told MTANZANIAN that all the time the police
have in the same venue questioning the validity of the session, include the
order issued by the military police to prevent local meetings including that of
the public.
However, as time was added, several police car appeared just
rounding in that area. At 10:20 expedition among the officers of the Police
Force and the officials arrived in the area of East Central Police Station,
