3 hours after Chadema to declare to postpone its
demonstrations and meetings under the operation of the United against
Dictatorship (UKUTA), the police force arrested officials of that party because
they didn’t go to police, writes Faki Sosi.
The information of unwanted to go to report tomorrow as
originally charged, established by Freeman Mbowe, national chairman of the
party and MP State of Hai, Kilimanjaro.
Those who were needed to report Police Headquarters tomorrow
are Mbowe; Member of Executive Committee and former prime minister Edward
Lowassa; Secretary, Vicenti Shinji and Deputy General Secretary (Mainland),
John Mnyika.
Yesterday that army arrested senior leaders of that party
when they went to the session of the Central Committee (CC) at the Giraffe
Hotel in Dar es Salaam.
Information stated that, in the arrests, a huge controversy
erupted after the leaders of that army to demand Chadema to terminate its
session of CC, that was going on at the hotel.
Reports from inside Chadema demonstrated, after an argument,
the police force ruled some leaders of the party, come Police Headquarters in
Dar es Salaam for an interview and thereafter, were required to report tomorrow
September 1.
However, after Chadema postpone UKUTA today, Simon Sirro,
commander of the Special Police Zone of Dsm has issued a statement praising the
decision.
"Thanks to these nationalist leaders who showed them to
suspend their meetings and demonstrations ..," said Siro.
