STATEMENT of Tundu Lissu, Attorney General of Chadema, he
wanted the military police to stop to detain 10 people were arrested on various
charges including incitement, has begun to be implemented reluctantly, writes
Faki Sosi. Saturday, Lissu wanted the army to stop breaking the
Constitution and laws of the country to detain the suspects more than two weeks
rather than bring them to court within 48 hours, as required by law.
"We urge the police force to bring the suspects to
court on Tuesday of next week otherwise we'll send the police to court for breaching
the law and the Constitution," said Lissu. After this statement, the police force began transporting
suspected who arrested different regions and bring them to Dsm. The day before yesterday the army transported the suspected
Ignasia Mzenga of Morogoro and Alex John of Dodoma of restoring order in their
regions, but Mdude Nyagali and three colleagues were transported to Songwe
yesterday their home city.
In Dsm the police has sent to court five suspects of ten
that were detained, however, federal prosecutors have not prepared the
indictment of those people and causing them not to go to dock.
Following that practice, Lissu said, state prosecutors have
done evil spirits and willful negligence not to prepare charges of these
people, despite to detain them for 20 days.
"It is not possible to stay with the suspects for 20
days and then today they come to court without having indictment; it means they
do not know what they wanted to release the case? This is gross negligence by
this government and its prosecutors, "said Lissu.
Lissu explained more saying that in fact our vow to open the
case for charges the police force and the government is still the same.
