The mission of the former President Mwinyi for Tanzanians about poaching

Former president of the second phase of the United Republic of Tanzania, Hon. Ally Hassan Mwinyi has urged Tanzanians to increase efforts to fight against poaching in the country.

The call was made today in Dar es Salaam at the launch of the book "Elephant-Rhinos have the right to live in Tanzania" hosted by the Peace Committee of Religious Leaders in Dar es salaam.

The former president says there has been a problem of not guiding and care for these animals because killing is sinful and contrary to the purpose of God that these animals have the right to live like other creatures.

"There have been many cases of killing of animals including elephants and rhinos and thereby reducing national resources for future generations and also the act is contrary to the purpose of God, so it is good to care for them, love them, upgrading to keep the animals because it is one of the attractions that contribute GDP "added the former President Mwinyi.

For his part, Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism Prof Jumanne Maghembe has said that Tanzania is the second country to have a beautiful park around it must cooperate in the fight against poaching in our country.

He added that poaching is a great community that involves multiple systems, including developers of weapons to kill elephants, importers of ivory, distributors and celebrities who use their homes to store ivory.

And the CEO of the Institute of WILDAID Peter Knights who are sponsors of the book, has praised the Chinese government for its efforts to ban trade in the sale of elephant tusks that action helped to protect these animals.
