ASSOCIATION Civic United Front (CUF),praised the stage of
Mohamed Othman Chande, the Chief Justice of Tanzania to take action against 11
judges and 23 judicial officers because of the moral and ethical mistakes. On
yesterday, Judge Chande announced that steps to be taken to the resident
magistrates, judges and magistrates, judicial facilitators of yore.
Kulthumu Mchuchuli, Director of Law and Human Rights of the
CUF has said, "The judicial service commission has worked well which
should be sustained in order to underpin the court to be respected and
important in managing and providing the right for all citizens." Kulthumu said further that citizens have been complaining
the court for many things, including court decisions to delay in various
proceedings at the time and some practitioners and judges to engage in
corruption.
"CUF also we commend the courts to deal quickly with
various cases in the court, including cases related to last year's general
election regardless of which direction you have won." He said. While suggesting that the average for the completion of the
trial in the courts of all levels for the period January to August this year
has been 100 percent. However, the party draws attention to the government in the
establishment of a court of mischief and asked the court to do justice without squeezing
anyone and not to be used for political purposes. "We recognize that the establishment of this court stemmed
from a political impulse without considering the human resources (shortage of
judges) and other actors in the judiciary, which is why we insist the
seriousness of professionals," explained Kulthumu.
