The Council of Elders of Chadema warned Magufuli's
statements that made by the President himself in his meetings. That Council
explained that such statements may cause problems for the country, especially
at this time.
The statement issued today by Roderick Lutembeka, the general
Secretary of the Council ahead of the journalists in Dar es Salaam. He said,
The President Magufuli while he was on the tour in Zanzibar on dates 2-3 this
month,
He gave a speech aimed to incite violence and hatred to threaten the prosperity
of national unity."The president was heard by citizens to applaud
violations of democracy held in Zanzibar in general elections last year, and
ridiculed for suggesting that the supervisor of elections who was responsible
for election violence to be given an award by President Ali Mohammed
Shein."The president should seek the appropriate solution for peoples of Zanzibar and all Tanzanians," he said
Lutembeka.
