The government has taken to the Magistrate's court, before a
judge senior Margareth Bankika, a business man known as Materu or Leonard
Kamili (31) for allegedly threatening to topple the White House for words. The
accused alleged to publish these words with intent to intimidate President Dr.
John Magufuli.
The accused is a resident of Moshi Baa at councilor in Dar
es Salaam, appeared before the court and listed the charges that read by the
attorney, Diana Lukondo. The lawyer Lukondo, claimed that the defendant published
false information through the social network of WhatsApp. When Reading the charges Lukondo claimed the accused had
committed the offense on July 17, this year at an unfamiliar area in Dar es
Salaam.
The lawyer claimed, that day the accused knowingly published
a notice and put it in the same network with lying words saying: "Magu get
ready, we are going to overthrow up to the White House" he said. Defendant was represented by lawyer Grace Lamwai, denied to commit
the offense, where the attorney of the government Diana claimed that the investigation
is still incomplete and requested the case to be postponed to another date for
mention. Judge Margaret gave the conditional bail to the accused
which only wanted him to have two sponsors who signed a bond of five million
shillings each. The accused had met the conditions of the bond; he has been
released on bail until September 20, this year, and the case when it comes up
for mention.
