It is a motion of patrol. That you could say after the
police forced to camp in the offices of the Headquarters of Chadema, that
existing Ufipa Street, Dar es Salaam. Since yesterday morning the police were
patrolling in the area while others surrounded the offices of the party dressed
in civilian.
According to the situation, we sent a team of journalists who had
been there all the day yesterday testifying the police outside the office of
the party and the others in the cars of patrol. The step was seen sparking
tensions with some members and top officials of the party who find themselves
unable to make an emergency session of the Central Committee to fears of
violence.
At five in the morning, a team of guards of Chadema 'Red Brigade' had
increased and stood outside the headquarters as they appeared to be ready for
anything, including the defensive to protect their leaders; former prime
ministers, Edward Lowassa and Frederick Sumaye who arrived in the office for a
meeting. That session was of the ongoing after the last meeting to fail to be accomplished
and some of the leaders of the party to be arrested by police. Despite the
situation, at 9 PM, leaders led by Lowassa came out and explained that session
failed to be conducted because the security situation is not good, especially
after having seen soldiers of coat going into the office and others pretend to
be members of the party. The Chairman of
Chadema, Freeman Mbowe with the General Secretary, Dr. Vicent Shinji, had to
leave early to go into a joint session between them and religious leaders to
seek appropriate agreement, regarding Operation UKUTA that will take place
tomorrow despite being stopped by the police force. The meeting of religious
leaders was held at the Hotel Courtyard Dar es Salaam, as well as other factors
discussed in depth deadlock to resolve conflicts between Chadema and government
officials about the protest tomorrow prevented. Dr. Shinji confessed the
situation to happen. "It is true we have postponed our meeting of the
Central Committee until later, our office and headquarters were surrounded by
soldiers of every kind, others wore baraghashia, coats and all kinds of
clothing with the aim of breaking and dispersing our meeting inside, we have to
postpone until next time we will inform. "These soldiers have been camped
in our offices for weeks now, but according to movement of the days, their
number keeps growing," said Dr. Shinji. Reports from inside the meeting
demonstrated that members of the Central Committee met to discuss various
matters, including the issue of demonstrations to be held nationwide from
tomorrow.
